The City of Lamar, Missouri is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Lieutenant. The Lieutenant will be responsible for field supervision for all patrol officers and perform the duties of an Assistant Police Chief. The ideal candidate will be team oriented and possess exceptional leadership and communications skills, with a record of community involvement and an ability to establish strong relationships with neighborhoods, the business community, law enforcement agencies and governmental organizations.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of Ten (10) years of law enforcement experience with a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience. Salary commensurate with experience; medical insurance and other benefits provided.

Education: Applicant must possess a State of Missouri POST Certification or be able to obtain certification prior to hire date. A Bachelor’s degree in management or a law enforcement associated field of study is preferred,
