Effective 12:00 Noon, Friday October 9th, the City of Lamar will temporarily be shutting down services offered by Truman Area Transportation. Due to positive COVID test among staff, along with other illnesses, T.A.T.S is currently experiencing a shortage in staffing and the situation raises health concerns for both employees and customers.
As of this morning, fares have been limited to essential needs such as groceries and pharmaceuticals. We recognize the reliance for some of our citizens on the rides provided by T.A.T.S, which is why are continuing to provide limited services until Friday.
Since the Pandemic event began, drivers have not only increased frequency, but also the standards of cleaning and sterilization of the vehicles. All drivers have been wearing mask as well as most passengers. Current services are being provided by drivers that are healthy and have no apparent symptoms of illness.
Tentatively, services will resume on Monday October 26th.
